Some of the best energy surrounding the Long March cannot be found in the streets of Lahore – it’s online, in blog posts, twitter feeds, and chat forums. Internet activism – which was born on November 3, 2007, when then president Pervez Musharraf imposed a state of emergency – is seeing a comeback as the second long march kicks off. Citizen journalists, student activists, and Pakistanis across the diaspora who cannot march for democracy and an independent judiciary are typing or texting instead.
The day before the long march began, student activists posted and widely distributed the ‘official’ Long March Tarana via the video-sharing website, YouTube. The tarana sets a poem recited by Aitzaz Ahsan to a catchy, inspiring beat and brings together an interesting collage of pictures, featuring images from the last long march and other political protests. Snaps from recent major political events are juxtaposed with those of ordinary Pakistanis struggling to make it through the day.
Popular Pakistani bloggers, such as the Karachi-based Teeth Maestro, are posting live updates from the long march as well as political commentary from activists (both online and off).
In fact, live updates are available from a variety of websites. A ‘Seen Report’ titled Long March for Justice is among the most active: it features live SMS2Blog updates (activists from around Karachi and Lahore are using SMS text messaging to send in quick reports from the streets, as things happen).
A Long March Twitter feed has also been established. There, citizen reporters and those participating in the long march are uploading bite-sized updates from rallies and the streets of Lahore and Karachi as well as news as it breaks on private news channels.
More comprehensive coverage of the political and legal developments surrounding the Long March can be found at blogs such as March for Justice and Chup, which are compiling news articles, YouTube videos of interviews with Aitzaz Ahsan and Ali Ahmed Kurd, and legal documents pertaining to the long march and the lawyers’ movement.
International blog aggregator sites, such as Global Voices Online, are also highlighting instances of Pakistani internet activism related to the Long March.
Not surprisingly, some political parties are trying to cash in on the online activism by creating portals that invite users to submit video feeds and post comments. For example, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf website is adorned with YouTube videos – along with an invitation to make online donations to the Long March!
Seems as if you can march all the way to Islamabad without ever leaving your desk….

@khan The rot started with the lawyers movement. I agree the terrorism we have seen in the past was also one of the largest contributors to the instabilkity we have seen in Pakistan, but once instability starts it spreads. Thats wht the lawyers movement did, rather than being able to focus on the real issues at hand it forced Musharraf to focus on his survival. The damage your lawyers movement has done doesnt stop there. Once Ch Iftrikhar got reinstated he went on a revenge mission of doing suo moto’s all the time and trying to win points amongst the masses. Its a shame the media doesnt highlight how Ch Iftikhar had bought the whole government to a grind through his constant interfering in its functioning. Musharraf was absolutley justified at throwing out Ch on Nov 3 because this guy was not letting them function. The media and PML N and Imran Khan has shown Ch iftikhar as some kind of saviour but once he is reinstated people will soon realize that he was working for vested interests.

There is not a single politician who can be trusted. The people of the nation need to revolt against these money hungry power hungry tyrants. Revolution is the only way out! Logical conversations and political back channels will yield nothing.
March 14th, 2009 at 18:52
ather mahmood , I agree with you wholeheartedly on the principles of justice. I just wish Allah would also knock some sense in us muslims about respect for civil liberties and human life. And start a quick , no visa needed program for these jihadis who make the word muslim , raise eyebrows worldwide – to hell!
March 14th, 2009 at 18:45
Hasan, ” the ones who want to see pakistan as a failed state , don’t exist anymore than just in words”…
To assume your position one has to give into that ” others” hold more power over Pak citzens , over your own politicans and can influence those as such.
Stop looking outward- start looking inward. The house is burning from inside and the fire was lit by your military, its past dictorship, ISI’s folly in funding terrorist camps, your unpatriotic politicans and your need to govern the country through religion vs a constitution based on democracy and civil rights.
March 14th, 2009 at 18:38
Bah! long marches for judges but no long marches for laws that are broken by pak terrorist against itself and the world. Ironic!
March 14th, 2009 at 15:48
Mr Harold King I agree with you sir this movement has done no good for Pakistan. The The kind of instability we are seeing is playing right into the hands of the big powers of the world who want to declrare Pakistan as a failed state.
March 14th, 2009 at 15:43
As a patriotic pakistani it saddens me how our country was progressing before 9th March 2007, a country going on the up, gaining respect, gaining foreign investment and now everything is ruined. Every story has a different side to it why dont the media and common people understand the kind of damage and havoc this laywers movement has done to our country. Pakistans slide began when this lawyers movement started. If this movement is so great it should have had a positive affect on Pakistan but it is clearly having the opposite. Similarly the champtions of this movement said when Musharraf is removed things will really improve but even that didnt happen. It is time for the common citizen to realize this movement is nothing more than a political game.
March 14th, 2009 at 15:43
Agreed this is not the time for political unreset, Agreed Sharif’s have a lot to learn as politicians, Agreed Deposed CJ Iftikhar is a PCO judge himself and so on…….
Having agreed to all the above and any other negative comment about the lawyer’s movement, I strongly believe and history has proved in the establishment of all the nations that we consider great today that Impartial Justic was the first and the only strong pillar of those nations, And I am Thankfull to Allah that the people of my great country after 60 Years have realised that and every common person in pakistan who has some intelligence and vision of the future is for JUSTICE to be delivered impartially.
Even If all this was a setup and that political parties & and etc used it for their gains but this time will be remembered in the history of PAKISTAN as the time when this great nation collectively realised the importance of JUSTICE and Hence took another step towards becoming an even greater nation.
March 14th, 2009 at 14:29
Internet is an alternate media, especially when Govt has decided to block Geo & Aaj TV channels.
These blogs & websites are doing best services for the cause of Lawyers success!

For revolutions to come about needs a lot of preparation, sacrifice and planning.
Pakistan’s Long March, on the other hand, seriously lacks the basic ingredients of a grassroots revolution. Mainstream Pakistanis have not suffered much sacrifice.
The current Long March will fizzle out because it lacks the basic ingredients of a revolution: dedication, focus, objective to attain the good of the masses, readiness to sacrifice for the common good, etc. etc.
God save Pakistan!
March 14th, 2009 at 2:42
What is wrong with the views of the people here???!!! Nawaz Sharif??!! Has everyone forgotten Oct 12 1999 and the year before that. What has Sharif done??? Impose amendments so that he can NEVER be removed from power, have a puppet COAS, a puppet judiciary and a puppet president…what happened to balance of power and accountability…he is just using the circumstances for his personal gains.
March 14th, 2009 at 2:24
The long march will fail for a very simple reason. People will be afraid to congregate in large numbers at one place due to the fear of a terrorist attack. That is why the response this time has been so lukewarm. People would and should stay put in their homes instead of risking their lives.
March 14th, 2009 at 0:47
I feel so sorry for all the Pakistanis.
First thing first. we should stop consider ourselves as a nation. We are not a nation at all. We are just a “HAJOOM” i.e. a CROWD.
All my life i hear the same old problems. same politicians .. same old faces .. same old crooks.
All we need is a Army. I praised Gen. Pervez Musharraf. He was THE Man.. who kept the country in a good shape.
Most of you will not agree with me. But just compare it ..
May Allah help us all in this difficult time .
March 13th, 2009 at 22:44
Long march is totally a joke. This is part of the same old game that Pakistani political parties, media and lawyers have been playing for last 60 yrs.
As a punjabi I am completely ashamed, this is our inability to tolerate a Sindhi president once again. For God sakes stop deluding yourself that only Pubjabi’s are rightful heirs of Pakistan. wait for your turn in 4 years. If people of Pakistan want you they will elect you during next election.
March 13th, 2009 at 21:42
Clearly our country has huge problems because our priorities are all wrong. The Taliban take over a portion of the country. Silence! The Sri Lankan cricket team is attacked, people are killed and the perpretators get away. No problem! But on this non-issue we have protests like never before. Why weren’t these lawyers and judges demanding justice on the other more pressing matters? Where was this suddenly defiant public then? I think its clear to see why we are where we are and it will only get worse.
March 13th, 2009 at 21:21
It seems that the long march is facing huge problem as it was warned ealier for the goverment officals. But i think the result will be same as it was in previous LONG MARCH there will be deal signed off by the political laeders and they will be saved but the activist of all the parties has be raged very badly in all the part of the country. It must be stop as it will enhance the unstability in the country.
March 13th, 2009 at 17:49
@Le Mystique — “Hopefully the output of this march would be a lot better than the last one. InshAllah.
Lets do everything we can do make it a success!” —- hmmmmm last time output was useless at the terminus of long march and this time it is expected that this long march’s output would be hugely useless left at the teminus !!!!
March 13th, 2009 at 16:46
Hopefully the output of this march would be a lot better than the last one. InshAllah.
Lets do everything we can do make it a success!
March 13th, 2009 at 12:38
listen up you guys the real master is the USA. In the end it will be as the master wishes. Screaming and shouting, burning shops and cars and stoning the cops might calm your personal frustrations and cool your hot heads. In the end the master will decide our fate.
It is just our bad luck that we are born on the wrong side of the planet in this century. go home get a job and help your family. this is not going to get you any results. How many more lives must be lost no reason?
March 13th, 2009 at 11:33
Do you think that if judiciary is restored, all the problems will be ended I don’t think so. The same was done before Nov 3 when Iftikhar Chaudary was restored from Supreme court. What lawyers did in between that day and Nov 3. If lawyers think that now they can run the country then taste the small shadow of characters of lawyers. They are second command of politics now and worst then now.
I believe sharifs came out on street to only play with sentiments of poor and un-educated Pakistanis again who need work, home and education.
I feel Musharaf era was much better and had predicted that country will be worse after Musharaf. If Musharaf has done some thing wrong with Ifthikar then no one is white handed. The previous deposition of judges also took in Sharif and PPP era.
Things can be solved if some one really sit and dialogued with Musharaf to restore Iftikhar and that was our great leader Benazir Bhutto was doing.
March 13th, 2009 at 11:11
Those who are taking part in the long march are making history. Is Nawaz Sharif better than Zerdari? Absolutely! Even die hard PPP supports should admit that. Now is Sharif doing this for his political gains? probably. So again we are left with lesser evils.
What about Musharaf? Well he is the architect of this NRO based PPP govt. So he brought it upon Pakistan, and hence is guilty as charged.
A folk, dictatorship of any kind is BAD for the country. Mush gave us present of terrorism, and demoralized the Army, disenchanted the masses. So NO, we do not need him AGAIN PLEASE!
March 13th, 2009 at 11:11
True March is usually long…. know why???? coz it has 31 days in it…. So for a poor man who gets his salary at the end of every month it is indeed a LOOOOOOOOONG MARCH….
March 13th, 2009 at 10:32
It is the right of the people to protest in any true form of democracy, however it is upto the people marching to ensure that this right is not abused by taking the entire country hostage, register your protest and go back marchers, enough blood has flown in our streets we do not need a new coat.
Progress of the march can also be monitored at

March 13th, 2009 at 9:43
Iam not in favor of this long march. they will burn the shops, vehicles and destry public property.i will not understand how could you destroy your own country? when you have this kindof intentions how could you even say this long march will bring change in the country? i really wish these all politicians and lawyers are really sincere to this country.where were we all when zardari was announced as a president?? why we wake up now? these are politicians are fighting for their own causes atleast this country is not their main cause.
March 13th, 2009 at 6:42
I wish this long march bring some change , not just change of faces but good constructive rule of law, change! but i just wish!
few people on this forum are saying “musharaf was a man of character”. People, whats wrong with you, he is the one who has brought us to the day where all big murderers and looters have got pardon through NRO and we have moved from bad to worse. every thing is going down the hill. tragedy is that we dont have anyone sincere here, everybody is for sale, they have different bargaining prices. To my mind Imran khan is the only hope, but people of pakistan are not yet educated enough to vote for his party to get majority. it will take a lot of time. But these people are educated and aware enough of their right, young smart students were the rare sight in protests in the past but in recent years that class of our country has also moved forward for the basic right. Its a awareness created by media, it has given them a thought and through which they are expressing their selves.
March 13th, 2009 at 6:20
i totally support the long march for the supremacy of rule of law and justuce. and, i support whoever is supporting this cause as it lays down the foundations of a properly functioning nation. Ch. Iftikhar husain is more than a mere individual now. he represents what our judiciary actually should be like: independant, impartial, subservient to no one!
it is disheartening to know that Pakistan being a Muslim country is void of what Islam really stands for: justice.
March 13th, 2009 at 5:13
Blogging is important for awareness but let us not take it as a counter for not physically going there…even if u have ten million bloggers blogging at a time wont ever make a difference to Zardari…but if only a million are there on the streets will shake the basis of his trembling Govt…its my cowardness that is not letting me go out n let my voice be heard…but hatts off to those who are volunteering their lives for the sake of generations here n generations to come…May Allah bless them wid peace and amaan… Aameen
March 13th, 2009 at 3:07
will our realise to stand up for the right thing. All those saying the LONG MARCH is for restoration of the Sharif brothers are demeaning the hte historic moement that began when a Chief Justice took a stand against a Miliraty Dictator and made an ordinary ciilain feel tall. One doesnt realise how brutalised our society has become under long years of martial law ( AYUB, ZIA and then MUSHARAF) People in Uniform consider themselves above the law. The rich dont need the law, they can buy their way out. The ordinary man needs an Independent Judiciary and I salute Aitzaz Kurd Munir and others for continuing the beacon of hope for our land despite all the conspiracies agianst them. Iftikhar Ch. may hae been a PCO judge at one point but his stand against Musharaf redeemed him and galvanized the oppressed civil society into a people’s movement.
March 13th, 2009 at 2:03
Time to rise!! REVOLUTION ONLY!
March 13th, 2009 at 0:58
Mr. Ghulam Dastgeer comments have amazed me, that why people cannot think logically. I know Sharif brothers have their own interests in the judiciary movement, but still they are on our side which happened to became their side also.
Our nation believe in self experience, so we dont believe in anything we see it ourself or feel it ourself. So, maybe we ll understand the importance of independent judiciary once we are victimized by a controlled one.
March 13th, 2009 at 0:39
There is no use of this march. Its just creating problems for ordinary people. PPP should restore Punjab Govt and remove Taseer.
March 12th, 2009 at 22:16
Its time for Zardari and his cronies to RESIGN – u promised to restore the judges – BUT U DIDNT – please leave gracefully or you have the long march to make u leave ! Pakistan Zindabad !
March 12th, 2009 at 22:13
Go Zardari go …go salman taseer, rahman malik and sherry rahman go – We dont need u guys!!! Lets get Imran Khan, Jamat e islami and Sharif brothers in a coalition government – This will keep the sharif’s in check – Imran can be trusted more than any other politicians out there.
March 12th, 2009 at 22:01
Its time to settle political scores. Just imagine if both brothers were not dethrone and kept out of holding political offices. Would they have been sincere with the slogan of this alien-funded so-called movement for restoration of judiciary. Both brothers are businessmen and they know how to cajole the customers. President is least said sincere with this country of pure. High-ups in both parties are here to sell their conscience. Amazed at Sharif brothers! They want to champion of democracy and justice, and I am lamented at the short-sight vision and memory of even the educated and enlightened people. True there is no alternate entertainment for the people of this poorly managed country, instead they are subscribing these crude ideals…. Hands Up!!! Pakistan… They are coming for Double March
March 12th, 2009 at 21:48
Ayaz Shab are you going for the long march or only suggesting all of us to go and get hurt or even killed?
March 12th, 2009 at 21:36
“Long March” is for the freedom of Pakistan out of the clutches of WEST and a light of hope for a change.
March 12th, 2009 at 21:21
How wrong are we that we are equating the success of long march to the establishment of honest judiciary? To bring the old judges back will help Nawaz Sharif back and clear his past deeds. Have we forgotten that his lot drained Pakistan financially when he was in power. I am sure he wants to do it again. What love of Pakistan? I am no fan of Zardari also.
Musharraf was a man of character.
March 12th, 2009 at 21:18
A Pakistani have no home.In Pakistan he/she can be killed from Taliban or terriorist or in long march and overseas he/she is a target to recism. After looking at such severe news like killing, instability everyweek on media about Pakistan how can any foreign investor may invest in Pakistan?
March 12th, 2009 at 20:58
I believe that the “long march ” is a front to destabalise the country, however pakistans political elite are dispicable, both zardari and shareef should both be barred from holding office, pakistan should have elections again with new candidates and special terms imposed , allowing each individual to serve only one four year term, and never be allowed to stand again, with mandatory elections after every 4 years .Also only pakistani’s who have not studied abroad should be allowed to hold office. All terrorists should be wiped off the face of pakistan as they are traitors and have damaged pakistans reputation worldwide!!!
March 12th, 2009 at 20:58
This is no longer a movement for restoration of independent judiciary but a vehicle for an opportunistic political mob to seize power. I am puzzled by the naivete of many who still believe this movement would lead to an independent judiciary.
March 12th, 2009 at 20:56
Muhammad Azhar Hakeem From Mississauga Canada
Being a Pakistani First I pray tO ALMIGHT ALLAH save all life and properties of all true soldiers who are going To islamabad To save Pakistan On 16th March
I am A BIG SUPPORTER OF LONG March and salute all peoples who are going to save pakistan and judiciary
These people support to chiefjustice because he say NO to a general and make history of Pakistan and he is our hero
March 12th, 2009 at 20:41
people need to support this march for independent judiciary and for prosperous Pakistan, need to learn lesson from other countries, Justice first and then country can progress and think before voting for such politicians.
March 12th, 2009 at 20:34
the rumour has it that Mr. Kiyani is getting his sherwani ironed for the oath taking ceremony! I dont blame him. Its the democracy which always lets the Pakistani nation down. I am unable to understand as what good democracy has done for Pakistan so far.
March 12th, 2009 at 20:23
Finally, our nation has realised that you have to take a stand for the people who upheld the rule of law in times of testing.
Give honour to your heros so that our society will produce more. If we abandoned people like Dr. Qadir Khan and Iftikhar ch.then who will come forward to resuce this nation???????
Lets come and honour our heros or atleast acknowledge that the nation is standing with them.
Pakistan Zindabad
March 12th, 2009 at 20:21
No sincere loyalist Pakistani will deny the need of a march for the restoration of Justice System in the country. But this march does not seem to be on the right time. I seriously doubt Sharif Bradrans sincerity for the cause. They are politicising the issue and creating some unrest to the country and it economy. They only remind the issue now right after almost one and half years when they have been disqualified other wise would have continued to their Government in Punjab.
Pakistan is facing some other fundamental issues that need to resolved at the first place. Above all these would be keeping alive country
March 12th, 2009 at 20:15
The essence of this historic and famous long march stems for the concept of independent judiciary which is by far, the fundamental tenet of the three Ps in any society; peace, progress & prosperity. Therefore every enlightened, mature, civilized and caring person in general and all patriotic, selfless, sincere and dedicated Pakistanis in particular, must support this on-going long march in the land of the pure and Alhamadolillah, I am no exception to it.
March 12th, 2009 at 20:04
There is none in Pakistan who takes the responsibility for any failure and resign. Everyone out there is power hungry. God bless Pakistan!
March 12th, 2009 at 20:02
Yes, I agree with this that long march has no purpose but to take vengeance from zardari by sharifs for toppeling his govt in Punjab and again to make judiciary slave by sharifs
March 12th, 2009 at 19:58
A man if he does not keep his promise does not deserve to be a leader, he is a liability for the PPP and Pakistan.
Your country needs leaders with good credentials and vision , as its sliding down and down.
Has any one found about the Terrorists who shot at Sri Lanken cricket team or all the Govt machinery is working to stop long March and apponents.
Grow up Pakistani people as its already too late otherwise it a very bad news .
March 12th, 2009 at 19:54
Zardari does not appear to have respect for the cause Benazir Bhutto gave her life.He is strangling Democracy with his ill conceived thinking and is thus doing great harm to PPP.It is time for PPP leaders to to do something to save party and protect Democracy. Sure there are better and wiser people in PPP to steer the country outof the current crisis created by Musharaf and further made worse by Zardari’s senseless actions. Please save PPP,Save Judiciary, SAVE PAKISTAN.
March 12th, 2009 at 19:53
we all should be hopeful that the long march succeeds and the judiciary is restored. if some of us are against this long march…we have to think…how can we expect justice those who lost elections on ppp’s tickets and now became judges. the restoration of judiciary is important in order to bring those to justice who committed crimes again the people of pakistan and only then will we get the peace of mind.
may Allah give us strenght to fight the evil within our ranks
March 12th, 2009 at 19:49
I think long march is no purpose as majority of the judges have been restored under 1973 constitution and this is only for choudhary sahib who has now become a political and controversial figure. He must not be restored as he would not be able to take any action against sharifs, again would be a pandora box of judiciary, in any way. Lawyers, have some mercy on Pakistan, please.
March 12th, 2009 at 19:46
The conduct of PPP has reduced Pakistan to a subsidiary of US even in its domestic affairs, Pakistan must get out of US clutches. Its very important that a corrupt and unreliable person like Zardari be removed. Pakistan must have its all internal affairs managed internally and anyone taking instructions from outside should be kicked without Mercy. Iftikhar Choudhury is a Chief Justice not only Pakistan should be proud of but is a proud symbol of justice. Even we in India are proud of his conduct with dignity. Nawaj Shariff deserves a BIG ALL THE BEST to be on his way to save Pakistan. I am sure he will not tolerate US dictats in Paks internal affairs. All the best for Long March.
March 12th, 2009 at 19:44
mr president u r the president of Pakistan(now)u know that??? Pls do what bebe&u promised to the entire nation. Tks
March 12th, 2009 at 19:44
Long march or recording protest is the democratic right of every citizen and the ppp government has no right to stop these protesting people from going to Islamabad. I would also ask the police and civil administration not to follow the illegal and unconstitutionsl orders of the government and should not beat people with sticks and other things, people are also requested not to throw stones at police and also should not destroy or damage any government or private property.
Most of the people in Pakistan support this long march and are hoping that it will be a great success and Justice Chaudry and his associates will be reinstated on their positions and also hope that General retired Musharaf will be tried in the court of law for his breaking the constitution twice and his killing of hundreds of innocent girls of Jamia Hafsa. I wish this dreams of the nation could materalize.
Long live Pakistan, Long live Lawyers struggle for independence judicary.
March 12th, 2009 at 19:42
It is exciting to see that there are so many options now, where we can get and post news. This is truly post-ptv era. Long march is a historic event, I wish I could have participated in it. Great job dawn, I love this blog site. It makes people think they matter, because they can write about their frustrations.
March 12th, 2009 at 19:38
its fizzling out in karachi only tamasha been ppl looking inot empty spaces are out there. where is the joosh? looks like its finished already.
March 12th, 2009 at 19:35
Justice will be done and should be done.
Zardari is the president and he is taking all the decesion for the country, if he wanted that than he should have been Prime minister.
The pupet prime minister we got after the rigged elections, yesterday he said to the reporters, “I will talk to Mr Zardari to lift the Governer rule from Punjab”. What is he talking about is Zardari the deciding authority? Mr Gilani as PM should be advising the president what to do and not the other way round where Mr. Zardari issues an order and then PM advises the president to reverse his decesion. Mobile courts is another decesion.
This country is run by ppl who have no idea how to run a Govt. and running a Govt means having judicial and moral authority and current leadership of PPP carries none of that. Specially Moral authority is non- existant.
I wish Amin Fahim or anyone one from PPP with some Moral authority could make the decesions for Pakistan.
March 12th, 2009 at 19:21
We do not have much choice!
We have dacoits and thieves to choose from which is hardly a big difference.
The question is, do we see ONE sincere person among our politicians who can be actually trusted for his / her words.
Can someone suggest one name please?
March 12th, 2009 at 18:54
Iftikhar M. Chaudhry is also PCO judge, he misused his powers as CJ.
I still wonder why the then suppreme court only issued short judgement in favour of IMC in July, 2007. Gen. Musharraf sent home judges on 3rd Nov, 07 and SC was not able to release detailed judgment in four months !!!

What is the position of the PM in whats happening inPakistan
March 12th, 2009 at 18:37
I strongly support long march and, sitting outside Pakistan, pray for the success of this noble cause for which the whole country is on the roads. The way Zardari is running the country and undermining the judiciary is certainly an ugly practice and not in the benefit of the country in any way.
March 12th, 2009 at 18:32
I sincerely hope the democracy and peace return to Pakistan permanently. A stable and democratic Pakistan is in India’s best intrests also. I wish you guys all the best. Remember, it is easy to become democratic. It is infinitely difficult to stay democratic. To seek consensus is against human nature…we would all like to be like kings who can order what they want, and it will be done.
But if you put Pakistan first, nothing is impossible. If you love Pakistan above religion, caste, race or financial status, there is no reason why Pakistan cannot be the best of the best.
March 12th, 2009 at 18:32
Nawaz sharief is fomenting and he has to be held responsible for worstening the situation.he is using his punjabi card as well. we all know that zia ulhaq’s so called “ismalization” has made us the most sick nation of the world. we should be truthfull to ourself, islamization would actually lead us to the abysmal of animal age. jamat e islami, alqaida, nawaz sharief and imran khan are working for a same cause that is, the saudi arabian agenda of caotic animalizatiopn of pakistan.
March 12th, 2009 at 18:31
I fully support the long march.
I request to every Pakistani to take part in this because this will make a history Inshallah. So don’t miss that opportunity.
I also really appeal to the media to motivate
the people to take part in this,
Pakistan zindabad
March 12th, 2009 at 18:29
Standing up for justice and the right cause is something we lacked as a nation ever since we came into being. These protests and riots are only making a comman man i.e. you and me more powerful. I support the movement (despite fully acknowledging the political capital that can be yielded from this!).
March 12th, 2009 at 18:24
i think that excutive authority must care for the democratic aspirations of the people who had voted their leaders and not try to cobble alliance with the defeated elements. These elements were in power for 8 years and they ruined three provinces. These guys need to be asked what they had been doing in their rule that pakistan has to face this situation.

I support the long march its meant for the supermacy of judiciary and not for any political party . All Pakistanis should show their support for this cause even by a small gesture like waving to the people in the longmarch.

They want independent judicial system, I live in America and the Best thing about America is that there Judicial System is very mature and independent of Government. Every one is treated equally in the eyes of Judicial System. How long we will take to understand that “RESPECT AND INDEPENDENCE FOR EVERY ONE” I lived/worked in Arab Countries before but was always treated as 3rd category, but in America everyone is equal. And we want the same for our beloved country Pakistan.

I dont understand what are they fighting and struggling for. Are they so concerned about Pakistan? What do they want to do to this country?
What do they want to for this country?

I support the long march by the lawyers for restoration of justice with my whole heart. Pakistan is not a property of Pakistan Peoples Party nor of any other political party.

WELL THE CHICKENS HAVE COME HOME TO ROOST. HERE WE ARE EXACTLY IN A SITUATION WHERE WE WOULD NEVER WANT TO BE IN THE FIRST PLACE. PROVINCES ARE AGAIN RANGED AGAINST EACH OTHER PUNJAB vs SINDH, ETC., WHILE WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FOREFRONT OF FACING A COMMON ENEMY – THE T E R R O R I S T, OUR EXALTED LEADERS ARE FACING OFF EACH OTHER TO GAIN SUPRAMACY. WELL WE ARE AND WE ALONE ARE TO BE BLAMMED FOR THE MESS WE ARE IN.
EVEN ALLAH ALLMIGHTY CANNOT SAVE US, AS WE ARE NOT WANTING TO BE SAVED. HOW ON EARTH ARE WE TO REMAIN ONE AS A NATION, ONE CANNOT PREDICT.

Its not very good to see everyday that after 60 years of inception of this country
we are finding it so difficult to understand the difference between day and night. Seems like there is not much time left to fool around.
